The Advantage of phosphating in wire drawing
industries are providing corrosion protection during storage and
transport. The crystalline nature of the phosphate coating offers an
excellent substrate for the lubricant used, inhibiting film rupture of these.
Phosphating of wire is usually based on the
immersion application in which coils of wire are lowered into individual baths.
The phosphating tank is thus incorporated together with other post-treatment
stages downstream of the pickling plant.
A typical process sequence for wire bundles are ;
a. Pickling,
b. Rinsing,
c. Activation.
(depending on needs).
d. Phosphating.
e. Rinsing.
f. Post treatment.
g. Drying.
