Conversion Coating with Zirconium Based (Zr)

Conversion coatings are coatings for metals where the part surface is converted into the coating with a chemical or electro-chemical process. Examples include chromate conversion coatings, phosphate conversion coatings, bluing, black oxide coatings on steel, and anodizing.

A simple process of conversion coating with Zirconium based (Zr) in Aluminium treatment:
a. Degreasing
    Product : Diaclean M-200 or Diaclean H-460
    Temperature : Room Temperature (RT), Ambien
    Contact Time : 5 - 15 Minutes (depending on the oil)
    Concentration : 3 - 5%

b. Water Rinsing
    Product : City water
    Temperature : Room Temperature (RT), Ambien
    Contact Time : 1 - 2 Minutes

c. Conversion coating (for the best result can be involve with etching)
    Product : Diachrome EM-480
    Temperature : Room Temperature (RT), Ambien
    Contact Time :  2 - 5 Minutes
    Concentration : 2 - 5%


d. Water Rinsing
    Product : City water
    Temperature : Room Temperature (RT), Ambien
    Contact Time : 1 - 2 Minutes

e. Drying

Our Product for Aluminium : Diachrome EM-480

- Non heavy metal and hazardous chromium.

KONTROL HASIL METAL PRETREATMENT (ZINC PHOSPHATING)

Ada beberapa hal yang harus dicontrol pada part setelah proses Metal Pretreatment, khususnya phosphating. Berikut cara pengecekannya :   

-   Appearance (Visual)Grey coating phosphated (hasil phosphating abu-abu).

-   Coating Weight
Prosedure :
  1. Timbang phosphated panel (A)
  2. Panaskan larutan 5% Chromic acid pada 70 - 75 ºC 
  3. Celupkan phosphated panel, yang sebelumnya telah ditimbang selama 15 menit.
  4. Angkat panel dari larutan dan bilas dengan air.
  5. Timbang kembali panel jika sudah benar-benar kering  (B)
     Calculation : Coating Weight (gram/m2)  = (A - B)   x   1000

-  SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) dengan alat sebagai berikut :

    Alat SEM-EDX dapat melihat struktur kristal (morfologi) sample yang sudah di phosphating, dengan rentang dari perbesaran 100x - 30000x. Perbesaran yang dipakai dalam hal ini adalah 500x - 1000x (digunakan untuk menghitung crystal size), dengan indikasi : semakin kecil dan homogen (bentuk) ukuran crystal, semakin solid dan rapat permukaan metal yang terphosphating, sehingga daya adhesi terhadap cat dan ketahanan karat setelah pengecatan semakin baik.

-   Salt Spray Test (SST)
    Salt spray test adalah pengujian ketahanan karat/korosi suatu benda, dengan cara menggunakan      metode semburan air garam atau salt spray test (test semprotan air garam).


Metode pengecekan SST pada sample part biasanya di lakukan setelah painting (pengecatan) untuk mengetahui (evaluasi) ketahanan terhadap karat.  
Methode pengecekan SST ini mengacu pada Standar JIS Z2371 (Japan Industrial Standar) atau ASTM B117.

Sample dapat berupa plat datar Berukuran 7 x 15 x 0.1 cm, di masukkan dalam ruangan (chamber khusus) dan di semprotkan larutan garam NaCl (Sodium chloride). konsentrasi NaCl 5% atau 50gram/liter ± 0.5 gram. NaCl dilarutkan dalam air aquadest (demineralize water), dengan pH : 6.5 - 7.2. Suhu aplikasi : 35 ± 2 . Lamanya pengetestan tergantung dari kebutuhan yang disesuaikan dengan kondisi cat.

Pasca pengujian penanganan sample uji, perlu diperhatikan hal sbb:

1. Sample yang diuji harus dikeluarkan dengan hati-hati dari chamber SST. 

2. Segera cuci air pada suhu ruangan dan keringkan untuk menghilangkan garam dari permukaan. 

3. Korosi yang ada pada produk dihilangkan dengan cara mekanis seperti disikat halus perlahan, kemudian 
di keringkan. Setelahnya dapat dicek cross cut (X-Cut). garis X-cut dibuat secara diagonal dengan 
panjang @ ±7.5cm, besar sudut ±25º. Kemudian di analisa adhesive seberapa besar creepage (jumlah 
yang terkikis dalam mm).

Description :
DIA STARTER 40 is a liquid clear compound based on Sodium Hydroxide and used as additive to be added to Zinc Phosphate solutions to reduce the Free Acid-content.

Application :
DIA STARTER 40 is added both at the make-up to Zinc Phosphate process.

Cutting Oil-coolant fluid merupakan bagian dari metalworking fluid (MWF). Berdasarkan cara pengaplikasiannya, MWF ini sebenarnya dibagi menjadi dua bagian besar, yaitu:
1 Neat oil, penggunaannya tidak perlu dicampur dengan air; Diacool CT-71NT dan Diacool CT-72NT.
2 Water mixable cutting fluid, penggunaannya dicampur dengan air;

a. Water Soluble: Diacool CT-90MS dan Diacool CT-95MS, nama lain dilapangan "Drumus"
b. Semi Sintetic: Diacool CT-117SS dan Diacool CT-118MS
c. Full Syntethic oil: Diacool CT-983SYN

Cara memelihara Cutting Oil :
a. Kontrol kondisi fisik larutan : bau dan appearance
b. Menjaga Hardness Water (Kesadahan air). cek dengan conductivity meter.

Neat Cutting Oil (Straight Oil)

Cutting fluid is a type of coolant and lubricant designed specifically for metal working processes, such as machining and stamping.

The properties that are sought after in a good cutting fluid are the ability to:
·         Keep the workpiece at a stable temperature (critical when working to close tolerances). Very warm is OK, but extremely hot or alternating hot-and-cold are avoided.
·         Prevent scratch on metal surface
·         Maximize the life of the cutting tip by lubricating the working edge and reducing tip welding.
·         Ensure safety for the people handling it (toxicity, bacteria, fungi) and for the environment upon disposal.
·         Prevent rust on machine parts and cutters.

DIACOOL CT 71NT is neat cutting oil that provides good flushing properties, adequate corrosion, protection and does not discolor yellow metal. This has an acceptable odor and the desired skin compatibility.
