DERUSTING (RUST REMOVER)

Pickling adalah proses untuk permukaan logam yang digunakan untuk menghilangkan kotoran, seperti noda, kontaminan anorganik (Carbon), dan karat atau kerak dari logam besi, tembaga, logam mulia, dan paduan aluminium.

Corrosion of Metal, especially Iron
Corrosion is defined as the chemical or electrochemical degradation of metals due to their reaction with the environment. The corrosion of iron, better known as rusting, is an oxidation-reduction process that destroys iron objects left out in open, moist air. In the United States alone, it is estimated that the cost of corrosion, in equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement, exceeds $300 billion per year. What kinds of chemical treatments, surface coatings, or combinations of metals will prevent the corrosion of iron?

When iron metal is exposed to oxygen and water, a familiar result is observed-rust. The rusting process consists of several steps. In the first step, iron is oxidized to iron(II) ions, Fe2+, and oxygen from the air is reduced to hydroxide ions, OH-. This oxidation-reduction reaction takes place via two separate but simultaneous half-reactions
(Equation 1 and 2);
Oxidation half-reaction: Fe(s) Fe2+(aq) + 2e-          (Equation 1)
 
Reduction half-reaction: O2(g) + 2H2O(l) + 4e-
4OH-(aq)    (Equation 2)
 
Combining the oxidation and reduction half-reactions gives the balanced chemical equation for the overall reaction of iron, oxygen, and water (Equation 3). Notice that two iron atoms are oxidized for every oxygen molecule that is reduced-the number of electrons gained by one oxygen molecule is equal to the number of electrons given up by two iron atoms.

Fe2+ and OH- ions may combine to form solid iron(II) hydroxide, Fe(OH)2 (Equation 4). This is almost never observed, however, because iron(II) hydroxide reacts further with oxygen and water to form hydrated iron(III) oxide, Fe2O3•nH2O, the flaky, reddish-brown solid known as rust (Equation 5).

Our product can remove rust and carbon remover in metal, especially iron. It's contain substances that inhibited corrosion (decreased the rate of metal oxidation/ over etching).

Inhibited Acid for Immersion Application

DESCRIPTION
DIACLEAN AC-300 is a liquid inhibited acid product used by immersion for the removal of rust and scale from ferrous surfaces. Inorganic acid based.

APPLICATION :
DIACLEAN AC-300 is used as a pickling in dip processes as follows:
Concentration: 10 to 50 % (v/v)1
Total Acid:       5  to 50 points
Temperature:   Ambient
Time:                10 -  30 minutes

Inhibited Acid for Immersion Application

DESCRIPTION :
DIACLEAN AC-500 is a liquid inhibited acid product used by immersion for the removal of rust and scale from ferrous surfaces. Inorganic acid based.

APPLICATION :
DIACLEAN AC-500 is used as a pickling in dip processes as follows:
Concentration: 10 to 50 % (v/v)
Total Acid:       12 to 66 points
Temperature:   Ambient
Time:                10 - 30 minutes
*For best result, after use deruster (pickling) usually continue with passivating usage (Dia passivation L-44 or Dia Passivation RP), for neutralize conditions on the metal surface.

Optimum process sequence of removing rust in Customer, Dipping application :
a. Pickling (Rust remover)

    Product : Diaclean AC-500/Diaclean AC-300
    Concentration : 30 - 50%
    Temperature : RT
    Contact Time : 15 - 30 minutes (depending on rusty)

b. Rinsing, prevent contamination

     Product : City water
    Temperature : Room Temperature (RT), ambien
    Contact Time : 1 - 2 minutes

c. Passivation
    Product : Dia Passivation RP/Dia Passivation L-44
    Concentration : 0.1 - 1%
    Temperature : Room Temperature (RT), ambien
    Contact Time : 1 - 2 minutes
