IRON PHOSPHATING

This product is suitable for steel that make a basic corrosion protection.

Iron phosphate is the thinnest of phosphate films. In the application process, an iron oxide base is developed, followed by a flat or amorphous metal phosphate topcoat. The treated metal surface will typically have a gray to blue iridescent or blue-gold iridescent color, depending on the coating weight and the base metal.

Iron phosphate processes are much easier to operate and require fewer process stages than zinc phosphating. However, iron phosphates do not provide the degree of corrosion protection imparted by zinc phosphates. Normal operation pH : 3.5 - 6.0

Chemical Reaction of Iron Phosphate :
Fe  +  2H3PO4        Fe(H2PO4)2   +   H2

Advantage :
- No heavy metalls
- Medium energy consumption
- Medium cost for : waste disposal, cleaning and chemicals
- Coating Thickness : 200 - 800 nm
- Test SST (Salt Spray Test) : 72 - 96hours (Acrylic paint or wet paint).

Our Product : Diafos I-5000 , and Diafos I-5050 (Packaging 25 Kg/Can)

DIAFOS I-5000 :
DIAFOS I-5000 is a formulated iron phosphate solution designed for the treatment of ferrous material and their alloys. DIAFOS I-5000 grants an amorphous phosphate coating being an excellent adhesion for liquid, solid or electrophoretic paints. The proper use of the product needs a subsequent rinse with partial continuous renewal and possibly a final rinse with demineralized water. A suitable final passivation improves results.

DIAFOS I-5000 is used in spare parts prepainting treatment for automotive, appliances, metal furniture and plate manufactured goods in general scantily exposed to aggressive agents (humidity, atmospheric agents, etc.). DIAFOS I-5000, where no specific cleaning stage is provided, must be added with a Cleaning Additive such as DIA ADDITIVE I-5050 that could be chosen according to the operating conditions (temperature, type of dirty, application spray/dip) and so DIAFOS I-5000 is suggested for different type of plants.
